The Rumble is an annual bouldering competition held each spring.
This is an all inclusive event, welcome to climbers of all abilities
and skill levels.

The Rumble 2023, our 5th Annual Bouldering competition,
will officially kick off on APRIL 22nd, 2023. 




                   












Rumble 2023 T-shirts/Tanks are available to those who sign up BEFORE APRIL 11th. Tshirts/Tanks are an additional $12.

Spectators are welcome and permitted to enter the facility free of charge! We ask that all spectators and non-participants stay off the mats and walls. 

Rocky Top is offering a $2500 cash purse to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers in Men's and Women's Open category. Prize packages from our sponsors will be given to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers in all Men's, Women's and Youth categories. 

If you don't place in your category, there's still a chance to win some loot! Rocky Top will be raffling off prizes from sponsors like Organic Climbing, FrictionLabs, as well as Rocky Top gear and membership! 


Competitor Categories:
Choose your category based on if you can climb 2 previously unclimbed problems of a given grade in a day. Rocky Top reserves the right to "bump" any competitor into a higher category if their score reflects they should belong there.



 









scoring:

Scores will be calculated by adding the totals a competitors top 5 climbs. Each problem is given a specific numerical point value. Points are awarded for "sending" or fully completing a problem, with two handed control of the start and finish holds without falling. There are no partial points awarded for highpoint. Attempts taken on a problem does not factor into your score. Each competitor will be given a scorecard to complete as they climb throughout the competition. Ties will be broken by adding a competitors next highest valued problem to their scoresheet, so record each problem you complete! 


Schedule:

The Rumble is divided into four heats, capped at 50 people per heat. Each heat runs 2 hours of total climbing time.

Rules and Introductions: 15 min prior to each heat
Heat 1: 9:00am
Heat 2: 11:15am
Heat 3: 1:30pm
Heat 4: 3:45pm
Finals: 7:00pm
